An Invitation for Adventure

These relaxed routes, at your own pace, are an excellent way to introduce our cycling mecca: smooth, quiet roads, lovely swimming holes and delicious treats along the way. (Starts May 1)

All Self-Guided Tours include: Basic Hybrid Bicycle rental for 4 hours, a helmet, on-call roadside assistance, a patch kit and printed maps with route options and points of interests.

Enjoy the beauty of Lanark on one of our four Countryside Tours.  

Offered as guided or self-guided, all  of our Countryside Tours feature incredible scenery, delicious local food and several points of interest along the way.

We offer 4 different unique Countryside Tours for every level.

Cheese & Bread

Balderson & Beyond (3hrs w/stops)- 25km

Visit a local bakery with massive wood-fired ovens, an Amish furniture store, and spectacular hidden gardens. Extend this tour by riding to the quiet communities of Lanark and Fallbrook or simply laze by the river and swim with the red fins.

Mills & Mines

Murphy’s Point and beyond  - 48 km

Known as the Golden Ride, this tour will take you on quiet lanes  via the Bows & Allan Mills, past mica mines and into Murphy’s Point. Explore the humble  McParland homestead and a private swimming hole. Extend this ride to see the Narrows lock station and block house.

Trains & Locks

Smiths Falls and Perth Wildlife Reserve  60km.

You will bicycle on quiet country lanes past Port Elmsley and the Beveridge locks then explore a surprisingly  culinary country Store on your way to the Yacht Club Beach and Rideau Ferry. Wind your way to Smiths Falls for the Railway Museum.  Linger by the Rideau canal and watch the boats go up and down through the locks. 

Hills & Flowers

MacDonald's Corners and Beyond- 80 kms.

This adventurous ride with lots of climbs and decent will lead you into the Lanark Highlands.  Visit MERA and its Saturday morning Farmer’s Market, see a mysterious Orchid Garden and a collection of 700 chainsaws.
